Sound testing by Sound Acoustics Ltd
Sound Acoustics Ltd is a member of the ANC Registration Scheme for Sound Insulation Testing (Registration No. 164) in accordance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations. Our Part E sound testing work will therefore be accepted by all Building Control bodies, Code for Sustainable Homes and NHBC. Great! But why choose us out of all the sound testing companies? Well, our aims are simple and we think you will like them:
- We aim to give the best prices for a registered sound test
- A speedy and friendly sound testing service
- Plain language sound test reporting with the minimum of technical language required by the standards, Approved Document E and the ANC Registration Scheme for sound testing.
- Cost-effective sound insulation solutions on your next development which use standard building materials wherever possible. (We are not materials salesmen and in some cases the the money we can save our clients could pay for the sound tests on many more projects).
- A high level of service throughout your project. (We do not sub-contract sound test work out to other organisations).

Site conditions required for sound testing
To sound test the completed separating constructions accurately there are certain requirements we need. The most important of these are:
- mains power (110V or 240V but not a generator)
- the rooms and surrounding area should be vacant with closeable doors and windows
- carpets should not be fitted
- there should be no surrounding noise e.g. radio, power tools, plant machinery, noisy groundworks or people talking etc.
