Sound Acoustics Ltd is a member of the ANC Registration Scheme for Sound Insulation Testing (Registration No. 164) in accordance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations. Our Part E pre completion sound testing work will therefore be accepted by all Building Control bodies, Code for Sustainable Homes and NHBC. Great! Site conditions required for sound testing
To accurately test the sound insulation of the completed separating constructions there are certain requirements we need. The most important of these are:
- 240 Volts mains power (please state if only 110 Volts is available. N.B. we cannot work from a generator)
- the rooms and surrounding area should be vacant with closeable doors and windows (no wet paint)
- carpets should not be fitted on upper floors if impact tests are required
- there should be no surrounding noise e.g. radio, power tools, plant machinery, noisy groundworks or people talking etc.
